Recently, a British-Canadian cognitive psychologist who is widely seen as the godfather of artificial intelligence (AI) has quit his job, warning about the growing dangers from developments in the field. 75 year-old Geoffrey Hinton announced his resignation from Google. In an alarming message he said that he is now regretting his work. He has addressed some of the dangers of AI chatbots and called them ‘quite scary’.
