  • last year
A controlled explosion was carried out just outside of Buckingham Palace. A man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon after he approached the palace gates and threw a number of items - suspected to be shotgun cartridges - onto the grounds - just days before the King's coronation.

Highgate Tube station was temporarily closed on Tuesday and people were asked to avoid the area as firefighters tackled a huge blaze at a building on Archway Road in Hornsey. Six fire engines and around forty firefighters battled with the fire that set half of the first floor of the derelict building alight.

And finally - A thirty-three year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Brixton on Monday. Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Stockwell Park Walk where a woman was found with stab wounds. The thirty one year old died at the scene.
