JetBlue reports Q1 2023 loss but revenues rise 34%

JetBlue Airways reported first-quarter losses but expects to turn a profit in the second quarter due to strong travel demand. Adjusted loss per share was 34 cents versus the 38 cents expected, and revenue was $2.33 billion versus the $2.32 billion expected. Despite posting a net loss of $192 million, the airline carrier's revenue increased by 34 percent to $2.33 billion. JetBlue is also facing a lawsuit from the US Justice Department over its proposed acquisition of budget carrier Spirit Airlines, as well as over its partnership with American Airlines in the Northeast.
