1929 Van Phillips - If I Had A Talking Picture Of You

  • el año pasado
In November 1929, Van Phillips and his musicians visited the recording studios on two separate occasions (11th November and 25th November), and recorded the same two songs each time. On the first occasion, the recordings were rejected, but on the second occasion, they were accepted. In the video is one of the rejected recordings (Take 2) of 'If I Had A Talking Picture Of You' from the first occasion. The vocalist is Billy Milton. On this recording, the piano solo is different to that on the accepted takes, and an unknown flautist here takes the part played by Leon Goosens on oboe.
