Days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s call to his Saudi counterpart and PM Modi’s meeting with top officials, Indians have been evacuated from war-torn Sudan. Those evacuated include diplomats and international officials.

On April 22, PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting with the EAM and top government officials to review the security situation of Indians in war-torn Sudan.

The evacuation was carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces along with the support of other branches of the Saudi army, a statement from the Kingdom's foreign ministry said. It announced the "safe arrival" of 91 Saudi citizens and around 66 nationals from 12 other countries.
