US under fire for allegedly 'spying' on South Korea over Ukraine

Leaked US intelligence documents containing purportedly private conversations between senior South Korean officials about Ukraine, indicate that Washington may have conducted surveillance on a key Asian ally even as the two nations publicly vowed to reinforce their alliance. The incident happened ahead of a state visit to the US by conservative President Yoon Suk Yeol on April 26, 2023 , the first such trip by a South Korean leader in 12 years.
