"A Knight's Tale" is a 2001 adventure film directed by Brian Helgeland. The movie follows the story of William Thatcher, a peasant squire who dreams of becoming a knight and competing in jousting tournaments. When his master dies, William assumes his identity and, with the help of his friends, he becomes a successful jouster. Along the way, he falls in love with Jocelyn, the beautiful lady of a nobleman's court. The film is set in the 14th century, but features modern music, such as Queen's "We Will Rock You." The movie stars Heath Ledger, Shannyn Sossamon, Paul Bettany, and Rufus Sewell.
