A man has denied murdering Elle Edwards, who was shot at a pub on Christmas Eve. Ms Edwards, a 26-year-old beautician, died from gunshot wounds at the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village. The attack was not intended for her, Connor Chapman, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to murder via video-link at Liverpool Crown Court.

Over 100,000 people have signed a petition for a Paul O'Grady statue in Birkenhead. O'Grady, famous for his Lily Savage persona, died recently aged 67. The Campaign urges Wirral Council to honour his life.
