Combining Stranger Things season 1 and 4 was an ambitious choice since the seasons are so drastically different. Season 1 was a less intense season as Stranger Things was only getting started, and the main characters were still so young. There was a naivety to the season, and an innocence that the characters lost after having to fight off various Stranger Things monsters like the Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, the Spider Monster, and Vecna. By season 4, the characters were well versed in dealing with these entities, suggesting Stranger Things season 5 can combine the awe and discoveries of the first season with the action-packed events of season 4.

With the final Stranger Things season, the pressure is on. The characters in the show have been fighting off the Upside Down and its many villains since 2016, but there are still plenty of questions about it and the rest of the universe at hand. All these things will have to be cleared up before the series ends, leaving a challenging task for Stranger Things season 5. With plenty of questions to answer and hints at such a massive scope, the Stranger Things finale should be the most massive installment of the series to date - but this promise also serves as a major risk, given how many moving parts need to be pulled off just right.
