The inspiration behind this video:
A strong focus on Superman's two different fathers and upbringings was something Snyder did extremely well with 2013's Man of Steel. To that end, the first DCEU film features lines adapted almost directly from Morrison's All-Star Superman, such as Jor-El's confidence that his son would be able to use his Kryptonian abilities to eventually help humanity rise to heights they never could on their own: "You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."
Likewise, the complementing and contrasting views of Superman's Earthly father Jonathan Kent were just as palpable in Man of Steel. Jonathan helped his son exercise restraint and caution until he was ready to bear the burden of being Superman to the entire world, becoming an effective savior and protector to humanity as a beacon of power and justice while also facing intense fear and scrutiny at the same time. Rightly so, the lessons and teachings from Jor-El and Jonathan were some of Man of Steel's best elements with plenty of emotional resonance and complexity.
