Grant Shapps says the government’s new green plan won’t be “forcing anyone to remove their gas boiler.”

The energy secretary spoke with Nick Ferrari on LBC about the new plan drawn up in a bid to reach net zero.

Ferrari relayed a question from a caller about heat pumps to Shapps, asking if there would be a deadline in place for them or fines for not installing one.

“There’s no end date at all, and you’re not going to be fined a penny,” he said in response.
