  • last year
Baroness Louise Casey's damning review of the Metropolitan Police has highlighted a particular unit in which Wayne Couzens and David Carrick both served. Both convicted of rape, and Couzens also of murder, the pair served in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection unit, which is said to be seen by some as an "opportunity to carry a firearm".

Next - A man has died from a single stab wound to the heart during a suspected assault in north London. Detectives are looking for witnesses to the incident which they believe happened late on Sunday in Barnet.

And last - Transport for London is planning more twenty mile per hour speed limits in eight London boroughs. It's thought Greenwich, Kensington and Chelsea, Lewisham, Southwark, Wandsworth, Merton, Bromley and Lambeth are to be affected. It's part of a bid by the mayor to reach the goal of eliminating death and serious injury from London's transport network.
