Spring equinox: Spring has arrived and we asked locals if they’re looking forward to longer nights and warmer days

Today (March 20) marks the Spring equinox, the start of 'astronomical' spring for the Northern Hemisphere.

This means there will be almost equal amounts of light and dark on all places on earth and we can look forward to the warmer months ahead.

This weekend on March 26 the clocks will be going forward to mark the start of British Summer time which is a welcome change for many in the UK to enjoy later sunsets and longer evenings.

We spoke to people in manchester to find out what they think about the official beginning of Spring.
