Ryan Reynolds Sells Mint Mobile for $1.35 Billion to T-Mobile

Ryan Reynolds is selling Mint Mobile to T-Mobile US Inc ($TMUS@US) in a cash and stock deal valued up to $1.35 billion, and Reynolds owns roughly 25 percent of Mint Mobile and stands to personally receive more than $300 million in cash and stock from the transaction. The Hollywood star will stay on in a creative capacity and continue to appear in Mint Mobile ads. Reynolds is the chief creative officer at advertising technology company Mountain Digital and co-founder of production and marketing firm Maximum Effort, which Mountain Digital bought in 2021. T-Mobile is the second-largest U.S. mobile operator by subscribers. It took over Sprint Corp. in 2020 in a deal valued at more than $30 billion.
