Liverpool teen sensation Ben Doak COLLAPSES after a sickening clash of heads in the UEFA Youth League

BEN DOAK sparked worrying scenes in Liverpool's UEFA Youth League clash with Sporting Lisbon as medics rushed onto the pitch to treat him.

The 17-year-old former Celtic wonderkid collapsed to the ground after challenging for a header, sparking concern on the Reds bench.

Doak went up to challenge for a header with a Sporting player, with the duo clashing heads.

Initially, the Scotland starlet remained on his feet.

However, he then clutched his head and stumbled for a few steps before going to the ground.

The referee immediately waved on the medics and the Liverpool physios raced onto the park.

Thankfully, Doak was able to get back to his feet following treatment but the medical team was taking no chances.

Looking groggy after the painful blow, he had to be helped off the pitch and was replaced after just eight minutes.

Doak has been in electric form for the Liverpool youngsters this season, catching the eye of first-team boss Jurgen Klopp.

Having made a couple of first-team appearances as a 16-year-old at Celtic, he's now featured on five occasions for Liverpool's top team.

Scotland under-21 boss Scot Gemmill will no doubt have been concerned and will be hoping it's nothing serious for Doak regarding the injury.

Doak was named just last week in Gemmill's squad for matches against Sweden and Wales later this month.

He'll no doubt be anxiously waiting for any updates on Doak's condition.

Such has been the rise of Doak's profile in recent months, there's been plenty of clamors for Steve Clarke to include him in the senior squad.

So far, he's resisted any temptation to do so.

Clarke did, however, name Angus Gunn in his squad for the first time ahead of this month's Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain.

The former England under-21 international has switched allegiance to Scotland and it comes at a good time with Craig Gordon out with a long-term injury.

Greg Taylor was the biggest name to be left out of the squad.
