This is the moment a lorry driver was caught driving with just his ELBOW as he travelled along a busy motorway in a car transporter.
The casual trucker was filmed looking completely relaxed despite not being in control of the huge 44 tonne vehicle along the M40 near Gaydon, Warks.
Police caught the careless driver putting other motorists at risk as they patrolled the roads in an unmarked HGV cab.
In the shocking footage, the driver can be seen appearing to rest his head in his hand as he leans on the wheel with his elbow, while his other hand is folded across his body.
When he noticed he was being watched, he quickly grabbed the wheel with both hands – but police had already alerted colleagues and asked for him to be pulled over.
The footage was released by National Highways as a result of a week of action to tackle unsafe driving on motorways.
