This gripping video, captured by Maria Rodríguez Rojas, shows hails roughly 3x the size of a standard tennis ball, destroying her backyard amid an intense hailstorm.
"Hailstorm with ice balls up to 12cm in diameter and falling at a speed of 200km/h," the filmer said. "It happened on Tuesday (August 30, 20222) in La Bisbal d'Empordà and lasted approximately 10 minutes."
Maria added that the disaster in question left around 70 injured people and an expired toddler in its wake.
