Radio Franks (team of Frank Wright & Frank Bessinger)

The duo of Wright and Bessinger was most active as a recording team from 1924 to 1928.

At first they were associated with Brunswick, but by the later 1920s they recorded mostly for Edison.

Other labels featuring the duo's work include Cameo, Columbia, Pathé Actuelle, Perfect, and Vocalion.

In 1926, they appeared in a short film for DeForrest Phonofilm.

Jerome "Jerry" White (William Robyn) replaced Frank Wright in 1928.

On February 5, 1938, Frank Bessinger and Jerry White opened a bar called "Radio Franks" on 70 E 55th Street in New York, which, despite a fire on the premises in 1944, stayed in business until at least 1949.

Sound file was done by John Murphy.
