The Mets have bolstered their pitching staff ahead of the 2022 season. The Mets acquired starter Chris Bassitt from the Oakland Athletics via trade. New York sent top pitching prospects J.T. Ginn and Adam Oller to Oakland in order to land Bassitt. Now, the Mets have a three-headed monster in their rotation: Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer and Bassitt. In addition to boosting their rotation, the Mets signed relief pitcher Adam Ottavino . Ottavino joins a right-handed heavy bullpen, and will earn $4 million on a one-year deal with a chance to make an extra $1 million in performance bonuses
