The King has met with Ukrainian military recruits undertaking training in South West England. The recruits are given a five-week training course by British and international partner forces in the UK before they return to fight in Ukraine. The Royal Family have shown support for Ukraine since Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade the country in February 2022 - visiting communities, spending time with refugees, and comforting families.
