Shocking footage shows a reckless driver speeding at 100mph on the motorway before getting boxed in on the fast lane and rams into police cars.

Police dash-cam footage shows Hopkins run multiple red lights and swerve all over the road, narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers became suspicious after spotting Hopkin's driving a Volkswagen Polo erratically in Huntington Street in Nottingham city centre.

After noticing his car's registration plates had playing cards attached to them to obscure them from view, officers ordered him to pull over.

Hopkins ignored them and sped off in the direction of Trent Bridge in the chase on January 2 2022.

He was clocked going at more than double the speed limit in 30mph zones as he weaved through residential streets in the city.

An attempt was then made by cops to puncture the car's tyres by deploying a 'stinger', as it headed towards the A52.

But Hopkins dodged it and instead heading in the direction of the motorway.

After reaching the M1, he reached more than 100mph before deliberately driving his car into two police vehicles in the middle lane in a desperate attempt to evade capture.

Three police cars eventually managed to box Hopkins' car in on the fast lane.

Hopkins, of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, was dragged out of the car by officers and arrested.

He admitted dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance
