Neymar was taken off on a stretcher after suffering an ankle injury during Paris Saint-Germain's win over Lille.

Lionel Messi struck a free-kick in the fifth minute of injury time to earn the reigning champions all three points with a 4-3 win but Christophe Galtier's side was dealt with a blow earlier in the game.

Early in the second half, Neymar collided with Benjamin Andre in an attempt to win the ball before twisting his ankle after landing awkwardly.

'It's complicated at that time, there were injuries to Nuno Mendes and Neymar. Ney, it's probably a sprained ankle, we'll assess the severity of the injury. It is being examined,' said Galtier after the match.

Neymar had put PSG 2-0 up with a close-range finish after Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring 11 minutes in.

Lille fought back strongly and shockingly went 3-2 up through Bafode Diakite, Jonathan David, and Jonathan Bamba's goals.

But Kylian Mbappe put the hosts level with his second goal in the 87th minute before Messi's last-ditch winner.

PSG faces the task of coming behind to beat Bayern after falling to a 1-0 home defeat in the first leg.

Neymar has been a key cog in the team this season with 17 goals and 16 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Following Sunday's win, PSG remains top of Ligue 1, eight points ahead of second-placed Marseille who face Toulouse later in the day. ..
