Extolling the recent deal that Tata-owned Air India inked with Boeing and Airbus as part of its growth strategy, aviation expert Harsh Vardhan on February 14 in Delhi said that the deal will help the airline to reclaim its position as the ‘palace in sky’.

Calling it a deal that will result in moral boosting of the employees amid tough times like the pandemic, Vardhan expressed his confidence over the move improving the market position of the airline.

He further said that the step will enable Air India to get market leadership back in its hands in the next two years.

In a historic deal, Air India will buy 250 Airbus aircraft, and 220 Boeing planes as part of its growth strategy.

Moreover, the agreement between Boeing and Air India includes options for 70 additional aircraft. The deal is being widely hailed by Indian and US supremos.
