Wales headlines 7 February: Ambulance staff strike, Welsh gov announce gender change plans, farmers left with water shortages

Ambulance staff from the Unite union have taken part in a second strike day across Wales in a dispute over pay and conditions. Thousands of members across the country have taken part in the industrial action, as more strike days from 20th to the 22nd of February have been planned.

The Welsh Government has announced a new LGBTQ+ action plan, aimed at improving the rights of people within the community. The plans include making it easier for someone to legally change their gender, in a similar move to Scotland recently, which was blocked by the UK government.

Farms across some parts of Conwy have been facing water supply issues for the last few weeks, making daily life and their farming work increasingly difficult. Welsh Water have said they are carrying out investigation works across the affected areas near Betws Y Coed.
