Neal Maupay Rattles Arsenal AGAIN During Everton's Win Over Premier League Leaders
  • last year
Two-and-a-half years on from aggravating the Arsenal masses with his antics as a Brighton player, Neal Maupay once again riled the Gunners as he helped Everton hold on for a massive three points on Saturday.

With the Toffees shutting up shop after James Tarkowski headed Sean Dyche's team in front in the second half, Maupay worked tirelessly up front to prevent Mikel Arteta's league leaders from building momentum in the game's final knockings.

And as Arsenal sought to get the game going quickly, the Frenchman stood his ground as fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko moved up the pitch, resulting in a collision.

Maupay immediately fell to the turf clutching his face, but his Ukrainian rival was far from impressed with his theatrics and immediately stood over the attacker to complain about his behavior.

What followed was a mass flare-up between players from both sides and referee David Coote was forced to calm proceedings on Merseyside.

Both players received yellow cards and the game got back underway, with Everton holding on for a massive victory to lift the club from the relegation places.

It is not the first time that Maupay has gotten under the skin of Arsenal's players and fans. In June 2020, a poor challenge from the Frenchman caused goalkeeper Bernd Leno to pick up an injury during a match between Brighton and Arsenal.

He then went on to score a late penalty to win the game for the Seagulls, and his vigorous celebrations angered Matteo Guendouzi, who grabbed his countryman's throat on the final whistle.

'Neal Maupay, disgusting talentless footballer,' one fan moaned.

Another said: 'Name a better love story than Neal Maupay and winding up Arsenal fans'.

A Brighton fan added: 'Some things never change, Neal Maupay rattling opposition players is one of them.'

One fan joked: 'Arsenal making a bid back for Guendouzi so he can deal with Neal Maupay'...
