The story builds to a thrilling climax as it intercuts between the car and the beginning of that day, following the separate stories of each kid - where they come from, who they are, and how they all ended up in one car on this fateful night. With incredible performances by a young cast, this riveting moral tale touches on the issues of race, class, friendship and our connections to our past. Vier junge Menschen, und vier Schicksale, die in einem einzigen schockierenden Augenblick aufeinander treffen. Die Geschichte beginnt in einem Auto voller verängstigter junger Menschen, die weinen, schreien und brüllen. Carley ist eine hübsche, angehende Jurastudentin und hält ihre Freundin Lena, die am kopf angeschossen wurde und stark blutet. Carley bittet den Fahrer namens Dre, einen übel aussehenden Punk, sie ins Krankehaus zu fahren. Doch der lässt sich von seinem Kumpel Kevin einschüchtern, der sich auf den Vordersitz drängt und die Musik so laut aufdreht, dass man die Schreie nicht mehr hören kann. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt wird in Retrospektive gezeigt, woher die Beteiligten kamen und wie sie in diese Situation geraten sind.
