1938 Larry Clinton - At Long Last Love

Cole Porter, who wrote this, contributed only some of the songs used in the unsuccessful (78 performances) 1938 musical “You Never Know,” adapted from a European play. Clifton Webb, Lupe Velez and Libby Holman headed the cast. The off-stage rivalry between Velez and Holman resulted in various scandalous behaviors which you can read about in the Wikipedia entry “You Never Know (musical)”.
