Households paid to slash energy usage during peak times

Fears of an electricity shortage meant the first live run of a new energy saving scheme took place on Monday. The idea is to reduce the load on the National Grid during peak times, by paying households to slash their consumption. Monday's switch-off lasted an hour and Tuesday's is set to run for ninety minutes. Report by Wardl.
