CHICKEN CHOW MEIN | Chinese Street Food. Super EASY Chicken Chow Mein. Recipe by Always Yummy

Chow mein is a famous Chinese meal that became popular all over the world. Vegetables with noodles and chicken cooked in stir-fry technique is easy to cook, it will take you a bit more than 30 minutes. And you get a mouth-watering, rich and very tasty dish.

✅ Ingredients:
• egg noodles – 12 oz /340 g
• chicken thigh fillet – 1 ib /450 g
• carrot – 5 oz /150 g
• stalk celery – 2
• white cabbage – 5 oz /150 g
• 5 green onions
• garlic – 3 cloves
• chopped fresh ginger – 2 tsp
• corn starch – 1 tbsp
• soy sauce – 1 tbsp
• ground black pepper – ½ tsp
• vegetable oil – 8 tbsp
• salt – 1 tsp
Sauce:
• soy sauce – 2 tbsp
• oyster sauce – 2 tbsp
• chili sauce – 1 tbsp
• sugar – 2 tbsp
• rice vinegar – 2 tsp
• sesame oil – 2 tsp

✔︎ You will need:
• wok or deep skillet
• 2 deep bowls
• carving board

Preparation:
1. Cut the chicken fillet into small thin pieces, carrot and white cabbage into strips, ginger and garlic into thin strips, celery into small wedges, white part of spring onion into small rings and green part into large strips.
2. Add 1 tsp of salt, ½ tsp of black pepper, 1 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tbsp of corn starch to the chicken and stir, leave for 20 minutes.
3. Making the sauce: combine the oyster, soy and chili sauces, sugar, rice vinegar and sesame oil in a bowl.
4. Pour water into a stockpot, add 1 tsp of salt and bring to a boil, lay the noodles, cook al dente according to package instructions, drain, wash with cold water and throw into a colander.
5. Heat a wok, add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, lay out the chicken and fry for 3-4 minutes over high heat until readiness, replace the chicken into a bowl.
6. Lay the cut carrot and celery into the wok, fry for 1-2 minutes over high heat and take out into the bowl.
7. Add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil into the wok, lay the cabbage and fry for a minute over high heat, add the garlic and ginger and keep frying for 30 seconds more, replace into the bowl.
8. Add 4 tbsp of vegetable oil and the white part of spring onion and fry for 20 seconds over high heat stirring constantly.
9. Add then the noodles into the wok and fry over high heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly.
10. Add the prepared sauce and combine well.
11. Add the chicken and fry over high heat for a minute stirring constantly.
12. Add the fried vegetables, green onion, combine well and switch the heat off.
13. Serve your chow mein hot.

1. Heat a wok over high heat.
2. Fry all ingredients over high heat stirring constantly.
