Shadow Digital Secretary Lucy Powell says: “The scope of the criminal sanctions is a lot narrower than we want to see” in the Online Safety Bill. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has bowed to pressure from backbench Conservatives to make social media bosses criminally liable for failing to protect children from online harm.
