Filipina-American R'Bonney Gabriel is the new Miss Universe

Filipina-American Miss USA R'Bonney Gabriel was crowned the new Miss Universe during the 71st coronation night held Sunday (Manila time) live from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.

In previous interviews, the 28-year-old stunner who hails from Texas shared she feels a “big responsibility” to share her multicultural background and empower others to embrace their identities.

She is the first Filipino-American to win Miss USA back in October, who shared the importance of embracing own culture.
