Geoeconomic confrontation ranked among the top three risks to economic security in the next two years, according to a survey of more than 1,200 risk experts, policymakers, and industry leaders. Other risks included the cost-of-living crisis and climate change. More than 1,000 companies ranging from consumer brands to law firms, exited Russia or reduced business operations in 2022 following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. The U.S. and China have been at odds over China’s military drills in proximity to Taiwan and the treatment of the Uyghurs.
