Cappadocia (Kapadokya) is a region in central Anatolia in Turkey, known for its unique geological features, including rock formations known as "fairy chimneys." These tall, thin spires of rock, some of which are several hundred feet tall, are a result of erosion of the softer layers of rock that once covered the region. The area is also home to a number of underground cities and cave dwellings, many of which have been inhabited for centuries. It is a popular tourist destination and is known for its hot air balloon rides, which offer breathtaking views of the region's landscape.
