GOP Support for Trump 2024 Presidential Run , Is Declining, Poll Shows.
According to the
'USA Today'/Suffolk University survey, .
61% of Republicans would prefer
someone other than former President
Donald Trump to run for office in 2024.
More specifically,
they want Gov. Ron DeSantis.
According to the poll, a head-to-head primary matchup shows DeSantis leading Trump 56% to 33%.
Republicans and conservative independents increasingly want Trumpism without Trump, David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University
Political Research Center​, to 'USA Today'.
Among Republicans, Trump's favorability rating
fell from 75% in October to 64% in December.
The poll also found that if Trump were to go head
to head with President Biden, he'd lag by 7%.
DeSantis, on the other hand, tops Biden by 4% in the hypothetical matchup.
DeSantis has not yet announced any intention of running for the nation's highest office
