Avid hiker shares proper way to treat blisters and avoid pain & infection

Hikers and runners are no strangers to foot blisters, and luckily for them, this video highlights one effective and safe way to get rid of the fluid-filled bubbles on the skin.

In this video, Dana Meise demonstrates his method of treating blisters by subjecting himself to it.

He takes a pin, sterilizes it as well as the areas of the skin containing the blisters, pokes holes in the blisters, allows them to drain, applies ointment on the skin flaps, and then covers them with bandages and tape.

"I had just hiked 11,000 KM (of a 21,000 KM hike) on the Trans Canada Trail and stopped to treat blisters, which I often get as I cover huge distances in short amounts of time," the filmer told WooGlobe.
