Samajwadi Party MP ST Hasan on December 10 opposed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and said that Muslims were being treated like tenants in India even after 75 years of independence. BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena introduced a private member bill in the Rajya Sabha seeking enactment of UCC in India on December 9.
