The 12-year-old boy who sadly died after a collision involving a bus has been named as Mustafa Nadeem. The youngster is believed to have been riding an e-scooter when he collided with a bus in Bordesley Green on Tuesday. He was confirmed dead at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics.

A drink driver who was pursued by police down the hard shoulder of the M6 has been jailed. Akeem Rafiq was jailed for 35 weeks at Birmingham Magistrates Court this week and banned from driving for 48 months. He was also ordered to pay £185 in court costs and a £187 victim surcharge.

A new ITVX series will tell the life story of actress Noele Gordon who played the role of motel owner Meg Mortimer in the long-running Birmingham-based soap opera Crossroads. The new series will star multi-award winning Helena Bonham Carter as the actress.
