The actor Will Smith has returned to cinemas in the US in his first major film role since his infamous slapping of Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Set in the 1860s, Emancipation follows a slave who escapes from a plantation and flees through the swamps of Louisiana, chased closely by his former masters.
