It was an historic match at the Education City Stadium as Morocco beat Spain on penalties. The Atlas Lions reach their first ever World Cup quarter-finals. Our sports editor Simon Harding was at the game, and even though it finished 0-0 in regulation time, it was one of the most enthralling results of this tournament.
Meanwhile, the specialists had predicted a balanced game between Portugal and Switzerland, but it ended with a spectacular 7-1 result in favour of the Portuguese, who immediately imposed their rhythm as the Swiss struggled not to concede any more goals. One player who made a lot of noise during this game was Portugal's Gonçalo Ramos. The 21-year-old started in the position usually occupied by Cristiano Ronaldo and scored a hat-trick for his team, a first since 1966.
