has come to the defense
of J.K. Rowling and Johnny Depp. .
In a new interview published by the 'Times of London,'
the actress, who appeared in four 'Harry Potter' films,
addressed recent controversy involving Rowling and Depp.
The 'Harry Potter' series author has recently
come under fire for views she has expressed
which have been criticized as transphobic.
Bonham Carter called the backlash
for the author "horrendous," and that Rowling was , “allowed her opinion, particularly
if she’s suffered abuse.”.
CNN reports that a 2020 essay published by the author
on her website disclosed that she had suffered from
domestic abuse and was a sexual assault survivor.
