The League of Legends legend is not ready to hang up his hat yet!

T1 stated that Faker had extended his contract with the company through 2025, when he will be 29 years old, in a picture shared on Twitter.
The news puts an end to rumors that Faker was contemplating his options in other regions, including the LCS, and puts an end to speculation about his future.
According to reports, two teams have indicated interest in signing the Korean mid-laner: Team Liquid and FlyQuest.

Since 2013, when the group was still known as SK Telecom T1, Faker has been a member of T1.
He won his first Worlds championship that year and started to establish himself as one of the game's best players, earning the nickname "The Unkillable Demon King."

After that, he won two more Worlds championships in 2015 and 2016, as well as MSI medals in 2016 and 2017.
Although T1 has continued to make international finals, including at the 2017 and 2022 Worlds tournaments, international success has become increasingly difficult in recent years, but Faker has continued to outperform expectations and endure the test of time in the mid-lane.

Being six years older than his next-oldest colleagues, Lee 'Gumayusi' Min-hyeong and Ryu 'Keria' Min-seok, he is also the mentor of a young talent group.

Faker and T1 will try to win the world championship again in 2023 after falling to DRX in a thrilling five-game Worlds final.
In their home country, they should prepare for fierce competition from groups like DAMWON Gaming, which acquired Kim 'Deft' Hyuk-kyu from DRX, and Hanwha Life Esports, which assembled what has been dubbed a 'LCK superteam' by acquiring jungler Kim 'Clid' Tae-min, AD Carry Park 'Viper' Do-hyeon (a world champion in 2021 with EDG), support Kim 'Life' Je

T1 has also revealed that Im 'Tom' Jae-hyeon, Kim 'Roach' Kang-hui, and Kim 'Sky' Ha-neul would serve as members of the coaching staff for the 2023 campaign.
They will collaborate with the main team's newly promoted head coach Bae 'Bengi' Seong-woong.
