After the death of "peshwa" Nanasaheb, his son "madhavrao" succeeded him to office of "Peshwa".
"Madhavrao" kept Nizham and haidar ali at bay. he established the suppermacy of Marathas in the north again. Madhavrao defeated Nizham at Raksha Bhavan near Paithan. "Peshwa Madhavrao" provided special attention towards the welfares of farmers. he dugged many Wells in Pune and increased the water supply to city.
he reromed the judiciary for better justice to comman people. he started artillery and ammunition factories. he also established a mint to make coins.
Death Of "Peshwa Madhavrao"
Peshwa Madhavrao died in 1772 C.E. in the "history of maratha" he is described as honest, hard working, a determined administrator who was keen on public welfare.
the death of this capable "Madhav Rao Peshwa" was an irreparable lost to Maratha state.
