Bondi beachgoers bare all for art installation and cancer awareness in Australia
  • last year
Thousands strip naked for an art installation at Bondi Beach, Australia on Saturday, November 26. Organized by photographer Spencer Tunick and cancer charity Skin Check Champions in an event aimed at raising awareness of skin cancer.

Perched atop a scissor lift Tunick directs the mass of nude participants into several poses for his photographs on the iconic Bondi beach in the latest of the artist's installations -- which have previously included a similar fleshy crowd on the Sydney Opera House steps. Melanoma, or skin cancer, is one of the most common cancers diagnosed in Australia, with organisers hoping the event will also raise awareness and funds to encourage more people to get skin checks.
