India has criticized the USCIRF's "biased and erroneous" assessments about India. The US Commission for International Religious Freedom claimed in its most recent report that religious freedom and related human rights are in danger in the nation. The body was condemned by the Ministry of External Affairs for purportedly being driven by a "motivated agenda that throws into question its very credibility."
