GROWING UP in a household of tattoo lovers, getting her first tattoo at the age of 16 was almost like a family ritual for Denyse Labarca. The 31-year-old tattoo artist from Vancouver, Canada, found her passion for tattoos after she met her husband, Cristopher, who had done most of his wife's tattoos. Denyse, who is over 90% covered in tattoos, is working towards getting her entire body inked. For Denyse, her tattoos have become the confidence-boosting armour she can't imagine living without. "Before when I didn't have any tattoos, I felt like I had lower self-esteem. I was less out there than I am now," Denyse told Truly. "I feel like the tattoos got me more comfortable in my skin. I feel the most comfortable I've ever felt."
