Aaron Carter has spoken out to defend Michael Jackson following allegations made by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in Channel 4's Leaving Neverland documentary.
The singer, who formed a relationship with Jackson when he was 15-year-old, says he had the "time of my life with Michael", and that sexual abuse accusations are an attempt to 'stomp on his grave'.
'I Want Candy' singer Aaron Carter has jumped to Michael Jackson's defence, following accusations of sexual abuse by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in HBO and Channel 4's Leaving Neverland documentary.

The two-part documentary, which aired in the UK last week, includes graphic and uncomfortable interviews with the two men who allege Michael sexually assaulted them throughout their childhood.

Aaron has since questioned Wade and James's motives for their involvement in Leaving Neverland, telling TMZ:

"You're a grown man, and when Michael Jackson was alive, you are backing him, you are up his a**, you are kissing his a**, you are there to testify for him under oath, and then when he dies, you decide that's a good time to come out? No, what you're doing is, you're actually stomping on an icon and a legend's grave - you're stomping his grave.
"Why not do it when he was alive? Why not do it when he was being accused of all of these molestation charges. Why not do it then and actually indict a perpetrator?"

The singer also went on to detail his own relationship with Jackson, which started when he was 15. For context, Aaron first came into the public eye aged nine, when his self-titled debut album sold a million copes worldwide. He continued:

"I remember having the time of my life with Michael, I was about 15 years old. I hung out with Michael Jackson, I stayed at his house, I stayed in his bedroom ... it's hard for me to understand that - how am I supposed to understand that when my own personal experience with him was gentle and beautiful and loving and embracing."

Aaron told People in 2004 that he and Jackson had been friends since 2001, and that Jackson never behaved inappropriately with him.

"Nothing happened between me and Michael," he said at the time. "We didn’t sleep in the same room, we didn’t share a bed. We have a normal friendship. There’s nothing sexual to it."

During an interview on WE TV, he said, "Michael was a really good guy, as far as I know, a really good guy. He never did anything that was inappropriate.
