Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Visakhapatnam on November 12 to launch and lay the foundation stone for various developmental projects. While addressing the people, PM Modi talked about the importance of Visakhapatnam as a port city and its contribution to the trade and business of India.

“This city is very special. There has always been a rich trade tradition here. Visakhapatnam was an important port of ancient India. Thousands of years ago, through this port, trade was done till West Asia and Rome. Even today, Visakhapatnam remains the centre of India's business,” said PM Modi.

“Dedication and foundation stone laying of projects worth more than 10 thousand crores will become the medium for the aspirations of Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam. These projects will open many new dimensions from infrastructure to ease of living to self-reliant India, will take development to new heights,” said PM Modi.

“In the nectar of independence, the country is progressing rapidly on the path of development with the goal of a developed India. This journey of development is multifaceted. This includes concern for the needs related to the lives of ordinary human beings and also includes building the best modern infrastructure,” said PM Modi.
