Normal life of villagers has been affected due to the increased movement of tigers near villages in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. There is a panic among villagers of Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts. People are continuously losing their lives in tiger attacks.

This year, 75 to 80 incidents have happened. The Forest Department is concerned, The Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar is making arrangements to transfer tigers from the area. The shifting of tigers has begun in Brahmapuri buffer zone of Chandrapur.

“We are tracking the movement of tigers and predicting their position to inform villagers accordingly,” said Dhananjay Waybhase, Assistant Conservator of Forests.

“Such incidents have increased in the state. We’re translocating tigers to those areas where human population is less and forest is dense. People are advised to go to forests in groups. We’ll also fence areas of the jungle,” said Sudhir Mungantiwar, State Forest Minister.
