Matt Hancock has been suspended from the Conservative parliamentary party after signing up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!The ex-health secretary agreed to enter the jungle as early as this Sunday, less than a fortnight after prime minister Rishi Sunak declined to offer him a role in his new government.Tory chief whip Simon Hart said Mr Hancock’s decision was “serious enough to warrant suspension of the whip with immediate effect.”Mr Hancock was a surprise extra name added to the list of contenders and allies said he would use his appearance to promote his work on dyslexia. Sky News political correspondent Tamara Cohen joked live on air that Matt Hancock should be 'weary of hidden cameras' after it emerged he agreed to join the show.He served as health secretary to Boris Johnson during the Covid-19 pandemic. He resigned from the job on 27 June 2021 after he breached social distancing guidance by kissing a colleague.The photo leaked subsequently leading to his downfall, but now Hancock is back in the headlines and has been stripped of the Tory whip before his grand entrance to the jungle on 6 November 2022 PA
