A Total Lunar Eclipse , Will Happen on Election Day.
According to EarthSky.org, a total lunar eclipse will take place on Nov. 8.
It's the first time
in America's history
that such an event
has occurred
on Election Day.
The next Election Day lunar eclipse
won't happen until Nov. 8, 2394.
According to NASA, when a
total lunar eclipse takes place,
the sun and moon are on
exact opposite sides of our planet. .
As a result, Earth stops the sun's light from hitting and reflecting off of the moon.
Earth's shadow
encompasses
the moon instead.
According to TimeandDate.com, if the sky is clear, lunar eclipses can be seen from anywhere on
the side of the Earth in which it's night.
From some places the entire eclipse will be visible, while in other areas the moon will rise or set during the eclipse, Via TimeandDate.com.
In North America, the eclipse
will be visible a couple hours before sunrise.
'USA Today' reports that the Western U.S.
will be able to see the full eclipse best.
